ive tried them all lol tried a naughty step, tried time out, tried grounding, tried taking away things, tried reward charts, tried rewards in other ways ie extra pocket money at teh end of the week or an extra little surprise....
I find they all work for a while but eventually the kids are able to gauge what punishments ur going to assigne to what issues so I have to keep changing my tact LOL

We have a naughty step but its not often that we use it.

i give them 3 warnings... i do not shout at them... i raise my vocie... but if there don;t listen... depending on their age group... i place them on the chair... there don;t like it... but it does work... i stay with them...or have my eye on them... there are not allowed to watch tv... nor to have any contact with the other children... time out...
